NIGHT AND DAY SHIFT

SUPPORT WORKER ROLES AVAILABLE PART TIME/

FULL TIME 37.5 HOURS PER WEEK

JOB DESCRIPTION DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES - Meet residents' personal care needs respectfully, promoting dignity, privacy, independence and client led decisions in accordance with their individual and unique care plans; offering comfort and reassurance when required - Assist residents with mobility challenges and physical disabilities, including incontinence, with the use of aids and the appropriate equipment - Work to an agreed schedule and rota; adhering to all company policies, procedures and guidelines - Promote physical, mental, emotional and spiritual wellbeing through positive interaction, such as recreational activities; taking the initiative to create and implement activities based on individual abilities - Undertake laundry duties, such as washing, ironing and labelling clothing and bedding - Prepare and serve meals, ensuring those needing assistance are supported to enjoy their meals - Adhere to all Health and Safety procedures, including the reporting of accidents/incidents as required - Maintain records and reports during the night, using the internal electronic recording software and written communication for the handover procedure at shift end - clean communal and staff only areas to a good standard, including vacuuming and mopping floors, ensuring the safety of the residents PERSON SPECIFICATION - Good communication skills, patience, a caring and compassionate nature and the ability to empathise with the residents is essential - Must hold a full UK driving licence and have own means of transport - NVQ in Health and Social Care is desirable, but not mandatory as training will be provided - Previous experience is desirable, but training will be provided - Ability to work on your own initiative and as part of a team in order to achieve good outcomes - Willingness to undertake continued professional development when required PERSONAL ATTRIBUTES - Reliability, flexibility, honesty, responsibility and good interpersonal skill are key to this role This role will be offered subject to a satisfactory DBS check and two employer references. CHEF/COOK
FULL TIME

We are looking for an experienced confident and friendly Chef/Cook for our beautiful home, supporting twenty people with Learning Disabilities, set in an area of outstanding countryside in Barham Kent. Are you someone who will delight in preparing and cooking a nutritiously balanced, varied and tasty menu for our residents? Do you like creating changing seasonal menus? Enjoy cooking for celebrations? Are you confident to take responsibility for adhering to all Health and Safety and Safe Food Regulations? Take pleasure in sharing your cooking and planning skills with our residents and enjoy coming to work and being part of our day to day family life. This is a full time position. Job share not accepted. We offer free on site parking, uniform is provided and one free meal each day when on duty. We also offer free training, Employee Assistance Membership with a nationally recognised company and Birthday and Christmas gifts. JOB DESCRIPTION Duties and Responsibilities - To prepare nutritious and enjoyable meals for residents, including breakfast, lunch, dinner and packed lunches - To communicate effectively with the residents to support their dietary requirements and preferences - To ensure the health and safety of the kitchen and storage areas, ensuring hygiene policies and procedures are adhered to - Manage menus on a rotation basis, but with flexibility to meet the needs of the residents - To cater for events throughout the year such as celebrations, family days and fundraising events - Manage and rotate stock efficiently, adhering to budget allowances and purchasing food - To work with residents in the kitchen on set days, allowing them to use their knowledge and skills to assist in creating meals for their peers PERSON SPECIFICATION - Must be able to drive and hold a full UK driving licence (ideally have more than two years driving experience since passing test) - NVQ in Health and Social Care desirable, but not mandatory. Training will be given - Previous catering experience is desirable, but not essential as training can be provided - Ability to work independently and as part of a team - Ability to be responsible and flexible in your daily approach to work, working on your own initiative - Willingness to undertake all mandatory training requirements as directed PERSONAL ATTRIBUTES - Reliable, kind, honest, courteous and good natured This role is subject to a satisfactory DBS check and two employer references.
